Use of digital tools by engineering students close to graduation to determine the components of digital competencies

Abstract

This research is focused on determining components of the Digital Competencies of higher education students to strengthen the graduation profile with a focus on work activities and educational training. With emphasis on taking advantage of the potential of new information and communication technologies that allow us to face the realities of future environments, there is the foundation of Social Constructivism; The research methodology is qualitative and quantitative (mixed), the design consists of 4 development phases to have specific scope. It will be implemented in Engineering educational programs of a Higher Education Institution in students close to graduation; They consist of Phase 1.- Surveys and interviews, Phase 2.- Information analysis, Phase 3.- Definition of Digital Competencies and their development and Phase 4.- Reporting and dissemination of results. This work presents the information obtained by applying a digital questionnaire determined in Phase 1.
